3M™ 215 Masking Tape is a 4.7 mil blue copolymer plastic film tape with a rubber-based adhesive. The thin, conformable film backing follows curved, contoured, and irregular surfaces where standard paper masking tapes lose contact and compromise edge definition — making it a reliable choice when masking geometry demands more than flat-surface tape can deliver.
The tape withstands temperatures up to 250°F for up to 40 minutes, supporting low-temperature bake and cure cycles. Its low-profile edge creates a tight seal that reduces paint bleed, making it well suited for automotive body shops, industrial finishing lines, and general manufacturing environments where clean, precise masking lines on complex part geometries are critical.
